"I do not understand why this show is closing early. The theatre was packed and the performances were brilliant. I've come to expect a lot from Miss Cenoweth and she never disappoints. Run do not walk before it ends in a couple of weeks. "

All the costumes were incredible!
"The woman who played the maid and other parts was wonderful, so heartfelt. Miss Chenoweth was a Shakespearean performance to behold. Each of the main characters performances were stellar. Their musical numbers, thank you Stephen Schwartz, moved the story along smoothly and effectively. This musical has a niche performance appeals to its own unique audience.
Kudos from this older gay man."

Kristen Chenowith shined
"It was a treat to see Kristen Chenoweth. Her singing and acting were amazing! The story wasn't so wonderful. It was about greed and wealth and didn't have too many redeeming qualities until the second half which was better."

Review of show
"My husband and I did enjoy the show. We thought it ran a little long. There was a lot of messages to take away from the show. We thought that Kristen did a fantastic job as well as the rest of the cast. Sets and design are terrific."

No memorable tunes for wonderful Kristen
"I didn’t like the use of the real Versailles in the story - it seemed out of place. The message was fine, but seemed disjointed on how we got there.
Kristen Chenowith and F. Murray Abraham were great as well as some of the other players with wonderful voices, but we left there with no memorable tunes running through our heads."

a confusing play
"I was confused about whether I was supposed to like and admire the star or despise her or feel sorry for her. I'm sure the theme was that money isn't everything, but it was muddled. I liked the beginning when it showed her younger years. Kristen and F. Murray were both great. But the music was not memorable."

It had no memorable songs…

The show does not deliver
"I had high expectations because of the creative talent that created and performed the show. However, the plot and the pacing were erratic. The characters were not compelling or sympathetic. The musical numbers were not memorable. This show, in short, was extremely disappointing. "

About
The Queen of Versailles
“Kristin Chenoweth reigns supreme in The Queen of Versailles, a lavish and ambitious new musical” (People). Based on Lauren Greenfield’s wildly astonishing documentary, this “smart and sparkling” (The New York Times, Critic’s Pick) production triumphantly reunites Chenoweth with Academy Award®–winning songwriter Stephen Schwartz for the first time since Wicked.
From computer engineer to Mrs. Florida to billionairess, Jackie Siegel sees herself as the embodiment of the American Dream. Now, as the wife of David “The Timeshare King” Siegel and mother of their eight children, she invites us to behold their most grandiose venture yet: building the largest private home in America — a $100 million house in Orlando, Florida, big enough for her dreams and inspired by the Palace of Versailles. But with the Great Recession of 2008 looming, Jackie and David’s dreams begin to crumble, along with their lavish lifestyle.
Also starring Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus), The Queen of Versailles features a book by Olivier Award nominee Lindsey Ferrentino (Fear of 13) and direction by Tony Award winner Michael Arden (Maybe Happy Ending). It’s “a quintessential fable of contemporary America” (The Washington Post) that explores the true cost of fame, fortune, and family.
